Many people will probably say that

I should correct myself here... it are /not many/ people, but some ;-).

I certainly can understand that. Sometimes it is easier, faster and
better to start something from scratch than try to figure out
somebody's else code and modify it to work the way you see it should
work.

Absolutely. With Tloona I can easily have new commands displayed in the code browser or add a few new parser instructions for a completely new language. Hmm, I could reorganize the parser as well to a more modular structure, so that new commands can easily be plugged in...

The downsite of this "start from scratch" approach is however, that there are even more undocumented and half-baken projects. For Tloona I thought that some more people would find it useful and eventually would help to bring it further... which has not happened so far. This is of course not to blame to anybody - it was my decision to bring Tloona alive and to put it on sourceforge, but surely I can not "force" others to share my mind ;-).
It's still a great experience to have it developed, and I enjoy this "litte spare time hacking" project. However, the problem with spare time hacking is that it is always slow and without tight schedules. Everything is somewhat random... well, this makes it a good playground to be creative and visionary. Exactly /that/ is fun for me :).

I've had the same problem with Tcl's web servers. I wanted
completely modular, based on XOTcl small web server but the servers
that I found just took too much time figuring out and trying to modify
to my model. Or, there is a complete lack of understandable
documentation. So I started my own server project, which I understand
by heart, it is modular and I can tweak it anyway I want.

That's interresting, do you plan to make it open source?

With Web based UI there would not be a problem with cross-platform
printing, compatibility problems etc.

Sure, although it is not Tk. Anyway, I should have a look at Aejaks, it seems to be pretty nice.
