Books about software engineering often mention the fact. IIRC, "The
mythical man-month" does and McConnell, in "Rapid Development"
(Microsoft Press) says on page 276:

"Researchers have found differences in indivual productivity on the
order of 10 to 1"

Then he goes on giving some references.
