since building (efficiently) from sources is not a solution for most
final users anyway (especially for target platforms like wince or win32,
and because of the large set of potential dependencies).
There are likely other alternatives ...

Hello,
I am writing this, not in any way to create controversy, as anyone
has all the right to use any license or distribution method he prefers
for his code. Mi objective is to provide one additional opinion that
might help in defining the licensing scheme.
Many users, including companies and individuals, for professional
work or for hobby, are going to discard any library solution for TCL
that does not provide the associated source code. And the reason is
not to have the pleasure to compile by oneself, or to enjoy reading
and learning from the code, but is for a guarantee of future. If
someone is going to spend many hours developing a code based on a
library, he needs to have a reasonable guarantee that this library
will be available and reasonably updated 10-15 years layer. As all of
us code for eternity, of course. This guarantee, in my opinion, can
only be provided either by a very well positioned software company
like Microsoft, Apple, Oracle, etc. or by the source code.
So, in my opinion, to provide a snapshot of the source code, even
if it is very
difficult to compile, is a much better solution than not to provide
it.
